As part of ongoing engagement with industry operators, NCIA visited Harvest Feed & Agro Processing following the commissioning of its cassava-based glucose syrup production line. A tour of the facility provided a firsthand view of processing systems, including starch extraction and conversion into glucose syrup. Now operational, the production line produces cassava-based glucose syrup with potential applications as a substitute for refined sugar in food and beverage manufacturing.

The engagement brought together representatives from both organisations, including Goke Adeyemi, Chief Executive Officer, and Ademola Adeyemi, Executive Director, for Harvest Feed Agro Processing, alongside Joan Egwuterai, Programme Manager, and Olayinka Majekodunmi, Managing Director, Boston Consulting Group, representing NCIA.

The team also observed the use of cassava peels and palm kernel shells as biofuel to power aspects of the plant’s operations, reflecting an integrated approach to waste utilisation and energy efficiency.

Discussions focused on the company’s operations, product applications, and the role of glucose syrup within the broader cassava derivatives market.
